FORT WAYNE, Ind.— Sheriff David Gladieux endorsed Republican Rachel Lott for Fourth District City Council today.

“Rachel listens, asks questions and then acts,” Gladieux said. “Her approach provides the kind of common-sense leadership we need.”

Gladieux is serving his second term as Allen County Sheriff, and is a local pro-life advocate.

“Rachel understands the responsibility that comes with the role of public servant, and believes in communication and collaboration as the best way to lead with accuracy and credibility,” Gladieux said. “She also shares my commitment to the pro-life cause.”

Lott recognizes the value of Gladieux’s leadership, and believes the relationship between city and county government can strengthen the broader Fort Wayne community.

“Sheriff Gladieux is a trusted and respected leader in our community who works with his team to keep residents safe every day,” Lott said. “City residents are also county residents, so City Council and county law enforcement have overlapping constituencies. We have the opportunity to build strong relationships as each fulfill their responsibilities to residents. As a first-time candidate, it’s an honor to have the sheriff’s support for my campaign.”

Lott has also been endorsed by The Journal Gazette and the Upstate Alliance of REALTORS® political action committee. Lott’s campaign priorities are based on resident feedback, and include safer neighborhoods, better jobs and reliable trash pickup.

Lott is challenging incumbent Jason Arp in the May 7 primary.
